RAINBOW INKING WITH BRANDI'S THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND

That hand-lettering, tho . . . (happy sigh)

More, please!!!

The secret to pulling off the rainbow inking is using a MISTI and blending the edges of the ink where they will transition to the next color by using blending sponges. Note: Even tho the sponges will inevitably become stained, you can wash them with a little “fairy liquid” (dish soap), rinse and squeeze them out and let them air-dry. Or, if you’re like me, you want one for every color of ink so you never have to do that. Just sayin’ . . . Anyhoo, I find these sponges are the best for blending out water-based dye inks directly on the stamp.

Towards the bottom of my post, I have details on a fab deal—a ridiculously cute and FREE Rainbow Stamp set you can get with purchase at Ellen Hutson LLC now through July 19, while supplies last. And trust me, you wantsessss it, Preciousssssss!!!

FUNNY BABY CARD

poppin-bottles-001.JPG

Carly and her hubby Shaun are awaiting the arrival of a sweet baby boy and we couldn’t be more excited for them!

I just knew I was saving those clear rain drop embellishments for sumpin’ special! (wink!)

poppin-bottles-002.JPG

The camera couldn’t pick it up, but the pale blue streaks are also top coated with streaks of Clear Glitter Gloss NUVO Aqua Shimmer—so shimmery IRL! I love funny baby cards and this was a hoot to bring to life!

Thanks for stopping by and check out my fellow hoppers’ sweet creations below:

LIGHT UP ASIAN LANTERNS CARD

Hey, hi, hello!!! Welcome to the HAI Supply / Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! Be sure to scroll to the bottom of my post for more info about prizes and whatnot!

lantern-lightup-001.JPG

Cards that light up are among the most popular interactive cards you’ll find—there’s something magical about pressing a button and having a scene become illuminated right in the palm of your hand. If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at making one, but been intimidated by making an electrical circuit yourself, you may want to try the EZ-Lights by Pear Blossom Press!

I used some beautiful Washi Paper from HAI Supply that coordinated with images (So Matcha Stamp Set) I had already stamped and colored. I heat embossed the lantern images with black pigment ink and clear embossing powder onto the Washi and then die cut those out. Washi paper is still made by hand using centuries old methods. To learn more about it, you can visit this link: Mino Washi Paper I love Washi paper for its beautiful patterns, colors, texture and its translucent properties. The little LEDs shine through them in a lovely way!

A card like this is perfect for special occasions and becomes a keepsake because of its extra-special features!

HUMAN RAINBOW

human-rainbow-001.JPG

Making a card, or art, is an expression of so many things—in this case, I was feeling this (among many other things) and the card just kinda happened. The world is in need of a lot of love right now . . .

human-rainbow-002.JPG

I’ve been asked about what kind of paper to use with the Zig Clean Color Markers. I’ve tried this and that, but I seem to get the best results when I use Canson XL 140#. I cut most of the sheets down to 4.25 x 5.5” for card making. The above panel was initially cut to 3.75 x 5”, and later 3.5 x 4.34” to achieve better visual balance.

I hope you are all staying safe and healthy.

RELAX AND CREATE - EASY DROP SHADOW DIE CUTS

rnc-dropshadow-diecut-001.JPG

I needed a card to celebrate someone special’s recent accomplishment and wanted to keep the design very clean and classy. I nearly white embossed the tag line underneath the “OMG” but went with clear and am really glad I did because I think the white would have detracted from the overall design on the card front itself. WHEW!!! Good call, me! (chortle)

I love this look so much . . . I need more mondo letter dies. Definitely.

I love the contrast of the bright yellow for the drop-shadow effect . . . I don’t think things get much easier than this . . .

Hope you are continuing to take good care and staying healthy!
