MONDAY, YOU'VE GOT THIS

Handful-002-1.jpg

It’s Monday. Again. How does it come so fast? And faster still, the older I get???

I wanted this one to look like “group” encouragement . . . If that makes sense. LOL! So, I staggered the hands from the right.

Wish my nails looked as good IRL as they do on this stamp. HAH!

White embossed the sentiment on the speech bubble from the High Five Die set and then blended peachy and pink inks over the top, and layered a few cut from colored card stock scraps underneath. Some washi peeking out from under that top layer and some Ebony Nuvo Drops to finish . . . BOOM!

It’s fun, right?!

Some of you have asked about how I made the cute Foxy tilt card from last week’s Waffle Flower Water Media hop/post. I have a video in the editing process and hope to post it later this week—hope you’ll revisit me to watch it!

Have a good Monday!

WAFFLE FLOWER STAMPS WATER MEDIA MAT

wf-watermediamat-be-her-001-1.jpg

The Water Media Mat by Waffle Flower Stamps was one of our Top Ten picks from Creativation 2019 and what a great tool!

I’m not gonna lie: One of the (aesthetic) things I absolutely love most about it? It’s WHITE!!! ALL WHITE!!! YASSSSSSSSS!!! •fist pump•

I’m video hopping with Nina and the Waffle Flower gang over on YouTube!

***Please watch the video there, because, hey, PRIZES!!!***

Full video hop list is available HERE on the Waffle Flower blog!

This thing has quickly become one of my favorite tools because watercolor is my favorite coloring medium and with this mat, you can use not only bonafide watercolors, but also water-based markers, water-based ink cubes, etc.

Keep in mind it is NOT A CUTTING MAT; no sharp stuff allowed, people! But, dang! I talk about all the other things you can do on this surface in the video—And, my apologies for the audio; the Mister decided to mow the lawn during the only time frame I had for voice-over and I don’t have a sound-proof audio booth . . . •sigh•

Those little she critters are so adorable and, no kidding, they’re the perfect size for watercoloring! And, gosh, so perfect for that tilt card, right?!

CUTENESS!!!

Have a super fab day!

TREAT YO'SELF

Doodles-002-1.jpg

Don’t mind if I do! HA!

Random fact: You can fit 20 of these ice cream cones all neat and tidy on an A-2 card front.

The above only has 19 because I left a gap for the sentiment and just before I committed, I banked left and made a tag out of it to fit in that space. I’m such a deviant! (insert rolling eyeballs)

Each of these was topped with a coating of Diamond Stickles—it adds just the right amount of sparkle for this design but I couldn’t capture it on camera because of an agonizing dance between light, angle and overexposure that was giving me grief that day. Argh.

So, what’s your favorite ice cream? Mine is Tillamook’s Marionberry Pie . . . So so good! Altho I am pretty much an equal opportunity ice cream consumer . . . heh, heh, heh!!!

Have a gooder! Oh, and hey—tune in tomorrow; I’m in a video hop!

DANDELION WISH

I love how this rainbow effect turned out on the Silver Linings Die Cut. I die cut one from each of the “ray” half-panels and then mounted them together with adhesive onto a square of white card stock of the same size. Then I rainbow blended my way all the way ‘round using Catherine Pooler Dye Inks and a mid-size Picket Fence Life-changing Brush.

Glued a few rays die cut from gold foil card stock for just a little flash.

Keeping the focal image uncolored makes the whole thing just pop! Yay!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

BLOOMIN' GOOD DAY

Those Picket Fence Life-changing brushes literally have changed my ink-blending life. I didn’t have paper in these exact colors so I faked it! •chinkle• By that, I just mean that I white embossed the sentiment multiple times (from Everyday Punnies) onto white card stock, trimmed it apart into strips and then used the brushes and Catherine Pooler Inks to blend over the top.

I ALWAYS struggled with the ink blending tool no matter how much I practiced. (insert frowny face) There’s something about the handle on these brushes, tho, that makes a huge difference for me—my grip is naturally, and almost unconsciously, loose and the flexibility of the handle prevents me from applying too much pressure, especially wonderful when I’m trying to achieve a “pale” blend. Super satisfying. •fist pump•

Hope YOU are having a bloomin’ good day and thanks for stopping by!
