ff-3-botanicals-grp.JPG

My friends over at Flora & Fauna are celebrating 3 years!

They have a big sale going on to celebrate—20% off Mar 19-23, with code: birthday3

These three cards feature images from their most recent release. If you’re like me and adore hand-drawn, whimsical imagery, their stamps are so SO fun to work with!

I love how the butterfly white embossed on black POPS against that colorful flower. I used Fresh Inks in Peach, Tomato Red, Celery and Basil for this one.

Just watercolored (with Kuretake Gansai Tambi) some patches of green in various hues and then gold embossed this gorgeous leafy stem onto vellum; it’s secured to the card front with glue dots—the line details really help conceal those glue dots nicely!

OK . . . my name is liar—I actually had FOUR cards, but I forgot to grab the fourth one to shoot. I’ll shoot and share it another day—not sure why I forgot it, but hey, it’s crazy times right now, right?! Anyway, I took part of my third card and used it on this one above. I’ll give you a hint: I used a particular EH die that made pulling this off super easy . . .

Hope you’re staying healthy during this time, and maybe getting an opportunity to craft and make cards!

BIG SCRIPTY THANK YOU IN GOLD

TWO THINGS: A share. And a sale.

THE SHARE:

Saw something similar on Pinterest, went agog, had to emulate. I. LOVE. IT.

Full disclosure—I used a small leafy branchy stamp from a favorite Flora & Fauna set to stamp some accent images using a soft yellow ink. I traced over them with a gold gel pen and then doodled the remaining leaves. The monoline strokes were actually drawn using the shadow die from that set as a guide. When you don’t have a gel pen AND ink pad in a matching shade of metallic gold, you have to wing it. YAASSSS, QUEEN!!! (monkey clapping and bouncing up and down rather vigorously)

Seriously, I love this card so much I could marry it. Gives my minimalist heart the vapors!!!

FALLING FOR FLORA & FAUNA

I love fall . . . Well, I love all the seasons, really, which is one of the nice things about living in the PNW—we get to experience all the seasons. Fall is such a lovely one here!

I had some cozy creative time with a few Flora & Fauna fall themed stamps and this trio of cards were the end result. Naturally, that adorable car and pumpkin had to come live at my house— I believe in pumpkin pie for breakfast. I do, I do, I do!!!

And although Washington is called the Evergreen State, we do have plenty of brilliant turning leaves—wish I’d taken a quick pic of the Japanese Maple outside my office window before the Mister hit it with the leaf blower this last weekend. (argh.)

If you give a girl a greeting set that contains the expression “sweater weather is better weather”, it’s gonna’ remind her of United Colors of Benetton sweaters (case in point → Striped Sweater). When it reminds her of United Colors of Benetton sweaters, it will inspire her to make the above card.

The end.

Well, OK, not really the end. LOL!

My dear, dear friend Ellen is celebrating 13 years (THIRTEEN) in business, an amazing accomplishment in this day and age! She often mentions how lucky she is, but between you and me, I know it takes more than luck—it takes a lot of time, care, energy and commitment. So proud of her!!! WOOT!!!

And, I hope ya’ get lucky . . . (wink!)

Stay cozy!

FLORA & FAUNA CELEBRATE THEIR 2ND BIRTHDAY!

My sweet friends over at Flora & Fauna are turning 2 today and have a lovely sale going on! Be sure to use code birthday2 over on their site for 20% off!

I actually have an online class featuring some previously released Flora & Fauna stamps right HERE—if you enjoy their quirky and fun stamps/dies, this class is right up your alley!

I have a few creations to share, featuring dies from their most recent release.

Love having this sprig of flowers peek thru the card front like this . . .

This one features negative die cutting and lots of “sloppy” watercolor . . .

Love putting a high gloss finish on die cuts—reminds me of porcelain or ceramic! •all the heart eyes•

MY BAD

This set CRACKS me!  I just love these Mermaid Animals!  And how could anyone NOT forgive you with such an apology???  They would have to have no sense of humor whatsoever. Period.

Bird was colored with Prismacolor pencils ( see how his face is turning red??? ), which always look so nice on kraft card stock,  and embellished with a little wiggle eye.

Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink is the best white ink ever.  Just sayin'...

When I tilt the card, that little eye follows . . . *squee*
