Smackin’ my forehead because I forgot to share this tidbit—Wanna hang out with me and Ellen while we chat and craft? We’ll be LIVE on YouTube 10 AM Thursday, August 5! Yes, that’s tomorrow!

HERE’S A LINK: ELLEN AND JULIE LIVE ON YOUTUBE

The link will not be LIVE until the schedule time, so if you get there early, just snag a cuppa’!

Hope to see you there! And, no worries if ya’ can’t make it; there should be a replay shortly afterwards!

ALL THE FEELS AND YASSS!

feat. YASSS! Die.

feat. YASSS! Die.

Even tho it’s the last month of summer, these sentiment dies are gonna’ be used all year round—they’ve been on my personal wish list for the longest time!

I like big words and I cannot lie! (chortle) I really do! I like to fill the whole card front with ‘em! Because some words just deserve center stage instead of a supporting role. Am I right?! Of course I am! (cheesy grin)

Created a retro text effect with the Yasss! die by cutting it multiple times from bright colors of card stock from my scrap bin and layering them together in an offset style. Those sun rays in the background? I just scored lines with a score board, starting from the lower left corner on a quarter sheet of white card stock; just pivoting the starting point and spacing the opposite end about an 1” apart will give you the perfect rays, easy peasy! Those tiny gold stars once again make the perfect finishing touch!

I love this card. LOVE. IT. I can’t even tell you how much I love it. And, instead of describing how it was made, I’m actually going to be demoing it on a LIVE stream with Ellen on August 5th! I’ll share a link so you can join in the fun! And, no worries if you can’t—it’ll get saved and you can watch it later, at your convenience!

Now that you’ve seen the entire EBE SUMMER OF STAMPING 2021 , I’d love to know which stamp sets and/or dies did YOU fall in love with? I hope there were some goodies that had to come live at your house and that you get to enjoy some extra crafty time between now and the end of summer!

PEACE!

Please visit the release page at EBE SUMMER OF STAMPING 2021 to see the collection of stamps and dies in their entirety. All the samples I’ve shown here on my blog throughout the release are also showcased there . . . It makes my eyes happy to see them all together like that in one spot . . . (another cheesy grin)

EBE SUMMER OF STAMPING STAY COOL

Here’s three ideas for using all the fun shapes in Stay Cool! As I was developing the concept for this set, it was fun to imagine what I would want to do with all these shapes—I have a tendency to work backwards and think with the end result in mind, and then figure out what is needed to get to that point.

Nothing’s more chill than plenty of scoops of ice cream on a sugar cone, right?! This particular design played out well on a 4-bar size note card; it’s all one layer, except for the sentiment and I’m super stoked to have coordinating dies for cutting them out. Not that I mind fussy-cutting; it’s just super convenient not wield the scissors for things that are more intricate. Besides, I couldn’t do it that perfectly by hand anyway… Ask me how I know… (chortle)

I stamped the waves here starting towards the BOTTOM on my top panel and worked my way up using a MISTI so I could slide the paper easily; I eyeballed, rather than actually measuring. Used Mint-to-be, Lime Rickey and All That Jazz inks. The sun was stamped with Limoncello, and then I blended Orange Twist along the lower portion on the stamp and stamped over it; repeated one more time with Tutti Frutti to get that blended sun effect. LOVE. And, as long as I’m working from lightest to darkest inks, I usually don’t have to clean off the stamp when switching colors.

I’m also stoked that I included some textural stamps in this set—that pin dot background was stamped in a quadrant pattern with Mint-to-be and it makes great visual support for the popsicles without overpowering them! The popsicles were stamped tone on tone, using inks a little darker than the scraps of card stock they were stamped on and the sentiment was “shadow” or “3D” stamped. Sometimes, I like this better than stamping onto white; it doesn’t look so much like a sticker when you camouflage that border edge from the die cutting.

Have you seen all the colors of twine in the shop? I have a drawer full—I love having an assortment of colors available for cards and tags—I even use them in lieu of ribbon when gift wrapping small packages!

Hope you’re keepin’ cool this summer!

EBE SUMMER OF STAMPING WEEK 4 RELEASE NOW LIVE

Summer of Stamping Week 4 release is available now in the shop! Check out our Instagram Hop, beginning HERE, for tons more inspo and opportunities to win prizes! Leave some comment love at each stop along the way to throw your name into the giveaways hat!

Below, I’m highlighting Everything’s Beachy and the new hot foil stamp “Good Vibes Only” in my projects today!

As in pretty much all my card-making of late, I’ve been watercoloring everything—if I have to color, that’s my pick. This layout isn’t anything particularly special, but it’s one of my favorites—I split that top panel where I wanted the sea and the sand to meet using one of the Landscapes Dies , and watercolored just the edges of each separately; they were popped up with a slight gap between them and I embellished with some of those clear droplets I love so much! I really dig having the sunbrella hanging off the edge there, too. Adds interest!

I used the same Landscapes Dies to create the division—but this time I went on the angle, and very lightly ink blended the beach with a hint of Shea Butter and Sand Castle. The water’s edge was gently blended with All That Jazz and then I went over part of that with Lime Rickey to create another color.

I love having the pop of colored surfboards with the surfer dude there at one end of a series of uncolored boards; I must confess it actually turned out even better IRL than what I was picturing in my head (or chicken scratch sketches, LOL!).

And this last one? I’m crazy CRAZY happy about the retro style of this brand new hot foil stamp! I just made a monochromatic background by stamping the Swirl Background in Limoncello over Sour Lemon card stock (I did have to stamp several times to get the intensity of ink color I wanted—easy with a MISTI). Man, oh man, I guess I could have taken it further, but for me just the simple gold foiling (Gemini Foil Press) right over the top of that was absolute PERFECTION!!!

I’ll be sharing more of the samples I made for the release page here on my blog this week—thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to cruise the Instagram Hop! May the odds be ever in your favour! (grin)

Below, I’m sharing still shots of the projects I created for the release page with this set—I’m so pleased with how they turned out!

The beach-themed images in the set are so fun! I watercolored the images before cutting them out with the matching die (sentiment borrowed from Good Day) I’ve been watercoloring most of my projects of late, but this would also be adorable if you white embossed the images on bright colors of card stock and kept the same layout!

I ink blended Limoncello ink onto some Color Me Strips for a quick and easy accent. BOOM!!!

These images and the matching dies are just begging to be made into shaker tags! Used these adorable tiny gold and iridescent stars for the bits inside—love how they sparkle! (borrowed and attached the “hanging tag” from the Shaker Globe)

More of those Color Me Strips used here, but scroll down to the final photo and you’ll see this card has a super fun twist to it!

I used the “sun” shaped and circle dies that coordinate with the stamp set to create this window on the front panel for the sunshine to peek through! It’s nigh impossible to see that detail in a flat-lay, so I tried to take an angled shot this way so you could see the fun peek-a-boo effect! AND, heck yeah, it still will fit into a standard A-2 envelope for mailing! (fist pump)

CAN YOU HEAR ME MONKEY CLAPPING???!!!

If you haven’t yet, you can subscribe to email updates (scroll down to the bottom of the page, on the right) so you’ll be notified when I blog the next release’s samples.

Thanks for stopping by!
