HOLIDAY COLLAGE

In the world of art, this probably wouldn’t be classified as “collage”, but it’s MY kinda collage—simple and crisp, with dimension. Mmmmm mmm good!

I just LOVE the imagery and lettering of the sentiments in Merry Days by The Stamp Market!

I slapped a poll the other day up on my Instagram Stories, asking folks to choose which of two color schemes (yes, only two) appealed to them. I was surprised at the outcome…

IG Holiday Color Scheme Poll.jpg

Do you know which won? •cheeky grin•

I kinda blended the two a bit on this card—I actually made a small stack and one of the other designs is going to be featured in a video tutorial over on the Ellen Hutson YouTube channel next Monday (Hello, Monday Playlist). That one turned out so SO sweet I was monkey clappin’ all around—actually, the whole stack I made turned out sweet! YAY! I’ll share the others soon.

Anyhoo, it’s hard to tell, but all the images above are all coated with that glorious NUVO Shimmer Pen, minus the holly berries; those have clear NUVO Drops on them—that stuff is BOMB! Totally held its shape and loft—the berries look so glossy and juicy! LOL!

Hope you’re having a great week!

Cheers!

MODERN CHRISTMAS WOODGRAIN EFFECT

I’ve been so busy working on some illustrations for future releases… trying to get ahead, which always seems/feels impossible. I’m so far behind, I can see my arse up ahead. Do you feel like that? Running… Always running…

So, just popping in to quickly share this sample I made a while back with a set that is retiring, called Modern Christmas. I just love this set because it’s a two-step! (The coordinating dies have already sold out, just FYI)

The faux woodgrain effect was achieved by stamping the detail tree (grey ink), in two rows, tightly together and rotating on the 2nd row, nestling it into the first row. The wreath was die cut first from white card stock, and then I stamped the solid tree repeatedly over the top (green ink), rotating and overlapping the image to get a really fun look!

That’s all I got for today before head back down to the salt mines. ;)

Have a great day—and weekend!

PINKFRESH STUDIO OCTOBER RELEASE BLOG HOP

BlogHopBanner.jpg

Hi, hello, welcome! I’m happy to be hopping along with Pinkfresh Studio for their latest release today! I’m sharing project pics first, and then there’s lots of fun info for you to read about afterwards (HINT: Prizes are involved… Just sayin’… 😉 )

This Hello With a Bouquet Die is big and lovely—I really like that I can get two cards out of it!. I had this one 6x6” piece of pretty floral patterned paper that I’ve been hoarding for, like, ever and decided it was time to just get on with it. Done!

Used Pinkfresh Studio’s Liquid Watercolors on this Happy Hugs design…

Pressure embossed the Geo Star 2 Die, instead of actually die-cutting—such a fab background this makes! The paper looks totally quilted, right?!

Same set, different look! These little huggers are on an Action Wobbler so they wiggle & bobble—SO fun!

Had to glue a pom pom onto that cap. Had to. Resistance was futile.

Hope these projects have inspired!

Links to the entire release are listed at the very end of this post—there’s a lot to love!

ShareCheerCampaign-BlogTop.jpg

Happy Word Cardmaking Day! Today is a day filled with fun & crafting, and on this post, I’m excited to be joining Pinkfresh Studio’s festivities! Pinkfresh Studio has chosen to reveal a very special stamp & die set called, “Share Cheer”, that is available for purchase now!

When you purchase this stamp set, 100% of the net profits will benefit UNICEF. They chose this organization because they help children and operate in more countries than any other humanitarian organization. UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories and in the world's toughest places to reach the children and young people in greatest need. You can learn more about what they do HERE.

The second part of the Share Cheer campaign is a Holiday Card Drive benefiting The Holiday Project, which is local to Pinkfresh Studio Headquarters in Houston, TX. Pinkfresh Studio invites you to send a holiday themed card(s) to them, and they will personally deliver each card received to The Holiday Project! They need approximately 3,000 cards this holiday season, so let’s put our best foot forward together and make a dent in that number! Share your card drive projects with the folks at Pinkfresh Studio through the link list at the bottom of the Pinkfresh Studio blog post HERE, and then physically send them to:

The spirit of this campaign is about giving, and Pinkfresh Studio is giving as well! They are going to do 7 giveaways of holiday themed stamp sets! They will draw 4 of the winners from all of the blog comments, and 3 of them from the Card Drive link-up. So, by commenting and creating they will have the chance to win one of the following sets:

Winners will be drawn and posted on Sunday, October 21st on the Pinkfresh Studio GIVEAWAY PAGE. Please check that page & claim your prize within 2 weeks. {They are giving some extra time for those that want to create cards for the Card Drive. The Card Drive link list will stay up until November 30th for those that want to participate, but will not be eligible for the giveaways after Oct. 21}

Such a unique stamp/die set—look as all those details! It makes me think of a holiday I-spy! Here’s what I made with the set for today’s event:

I did a soft watercolor wash as a background onto watercolor paper and white embossed the imagery onto vellum card stock.

Originally, I was going to diecut the image out, but it just looked so lovely as is—I’ll do that on a future project. Meantime, I trimmed the vellum down a bit and then attached it and the twine to the watercolor paper with a tiny staple—the twine actually conceals the staple and you wouldn’t even know it’s there unless you fiddle around with the twine. :) Super easy way to attach vellum!

I carefully added some NUVO Translucent Drops in coordinating colors, just for a bit of gloss and shine. And then I sat on my hands. Cuz I woulda’ ruined it if I added any more. I just know it.

Thanks for stopping by and for supporting Pinkfresh Studio’s Share Cheer project for UNICEF!

Next on this hop is Keeway Tsao!
