ON POINT!

This unicorn profile cracks me up--reminds me of those hair coloring commercials where the girl is tossing her head from side to side and her hair just flows and flips back & forth in slow motion.  HAIR FLIP!!! YASSSSSSSS!!!

Works for me.

As I was developing this design, it occurred to me that I could use the light rays from the Silver Linings Die Set, die-cutting two from foil card stock, mounting them side by side together onto some typing paper and then die cutting those with a star shape, to really draw attention to the focal.  The clouds were die cut from vellum card stock.

There was a lotta serious monkey clapping when I finished this.

Serious.

UNICORN FRAPPE

I've only tasted a Starbucks® Unicorn Frappé once; honestly, it was prettier to look at than it tasted (that sour bite in the middle is no joke.).    And, altho I'm not fond of purple, I had to mix a small dash of it into my watercolor work here to really get the background look I was going for.

I used Raspberry Tart Stickles to embellish (Apparently now retired. Why?  Why do you do this to me, Ranger Ink??? You did the same with Fruit Punch, which I will never forgive.  Unless you bring it back.)  I've listed a substitute down in the supplies, but since I don't own that one, I can't guarantee it will look quite as lush as Raspberry Tart does . . . I'm just sayin' . . .

I'm loving all the watercoloring I see going on this month and totally stoked to be one of the guest artists in Kristina's Simply Watercolor class over at OCC--are you signed up?  She's got so many fun ideas, you'll wanna try them all! Seriously!

Have a fab day!

Watercolor Swirl Tutorial on the ellenhutson.com blog today

I have a video tutorial for Hello, Monday on the ellenhutson.com blog today--it's one of my favorite backgrounds for sea-themed cards--so fun and easy!  No two swirls are ever the same!

I'm embarrassed to say I had no idea it was World Watercolor Month until Sandy Allnock mentioned it during her rainbow slider video.  Makes me so happy cuz watercolor is m' fave! YAY!

Hope your Monday is off to a great start!

Just in case you didn't notice, many of the images in the Unicorn and Rainbow set, and the sentiments in Pure Magic, work fabulously with the Rainbow Slider.  Be sure to check out the how-to-assemble video on the product page for the Rainbow Slider--it is SO stinkin' easy!  You will be making gobs of pop up Rainbows faster than you can say Bob's yer Uncle. ;)

I love having different sayings and images automatically appear when you pull the slider tab out!  EEP!!!
